October 26, 2006 PRESS RELEASE Clifton Mining Company Inc. (OTC : CFTN.PK) Clifton Mining Company ANNOUNCES CARLIN-STYLE GOLD Discovery Clifton Mining Company’s joint venture partner, Dumont Nickel, has announced the discovery of Carlin-style gold mineralization at Rattler Project Area, part of the company’s joint-venture property in the Clifton area of western Utah. “The 3.5 square-mile Project Area was discovered during reconnaissance surface sampling, and comprises a 3 km long and 1 km wide corridor of gold anomalies with upward to 0.48 ppm (parts per million) gold in soil samples. The soil anomalies are reinforced by underlying outcrops of equally anomalous disseminated gold-bearing calcareous siltstone, gold bearing siliceous material and related jasperoids in a complexly faulted geological setting. The spatial association of gold bearing jasperoids, abundant silicification and the calcareous siltstone is significant, suggesting good potential for the Area to host Carlin style sediment hosted disseminated gold mineralization.” While this area has not previously been drilled, historic records from the southern part of the Project Area report up to 20 meters (65 feet) thick gold-bearing material with grades above the average for the Carlin Trend, and in some places up to 2 ounces (60 grams) per ton. This drill data is in an area about 2 km south of the surface anomalies discovered by our joint venture partner. They suggest that the new gold discovery could be a surface outcrop of the same mineralized system. If that were the case, we would be looking at a major system. Clifton eagerly looks forward to the continued exploration of this Project Area. Clifton trades on the U.S. OTC: (CFTN).
